Creating A Lush and Welcoming Landscape

If you have a space on your property where you want to build a stone or gravel landscaping element, then consider placing wholesale Mexican beach pebbles or other kinds of smooth pebbles. These pebbles are aesthetically pleasing and relatively inexpensive. However, you want to make sure that you build a space where the pebbles remain where they are. Add A Ground Grid

There are a few different types of products that you can add to the ground before you spread the gravel. And, these items are used to help keep pebbles and stones in place. One of them is called a ground grid. The grid is a honeycomb, square, or geometric type of plastic device that can be placed on the ground in rows or sections. The plastic is often fitted with openings to allow for water flow and it sits at a height of about two to four inches. 

The grid is set directly on the landscaping area once the preparation is completed and the stone can be poured right over the top of it. Each space holds the stones securely and allows for some movement, but they keep them from completely moving or shifting from the region.

Ground grids can be purchased in wide and long sections that are perfect for larger landscaping spaces. They also come in smaller paver varieties that allow you to create walking paths. Paver grids are often made of harder types of plastic to prevent pebble movement when you place pressure on the grid with your feet.

You also have the option of adding some geotextile to the space. While this may not prevent as much movement as the grids, they do keep grass and weeds from shifting the stones around.

Place Crushed Gravel

Some landscapers will prepare and layer landscaping spaces to make sure that pebbles remain in place. This requires the excavation of the space and the removal of several inches of earth. Afterward, new soil is spread, landscape fabric is added, and crushed gravel is placed over the top. The gravel has sharp edges and creates a solid structure and this holds the pebbles in place that are spread on top.

Crushed gravel can start to move upward and displace some of the pebbles over time, so speak with your landscaping expert about this and the placement of new pebbles once you start to see the gravel emerging.
